South Twickenham

Here are your Green candidates standing in South Twickenham for the local elections in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on Thursday 7th May 2026:

Richard says:

I have been a councillor for South Twickenham since 2018. As Chair of the Audit & Standards Committee, I hold the Council to account for its performance.

I was Leader of the Green Group from 2018-23. I have a professional background that makes me knowledgeable and effective in many aspects of local government.

I strongly identify with residents and view my role as promoting and protecting their interests.

I am well-established on all the main resident associations, and widely regarded as their first choice of the three ward councillors for their support in South Twickenham. Speaking and scrutinising are personal strengths.

Gareth says:

I’m a data scientist with strong numerical and analytical skills, experience in managing projects and scrutinising policy.

I live in Twickenham and know first hand the difficulties we are all facing with escalating rents and a lack of affordable homes. I want fair and affordable housing for all.

I want to be a local councillor to help to build a fairer, greener Richmond and Twickenham. We are a car-heavy borough, and I wish to continue the work our councillors have been doing to push the Council to reduce the local dependence on cars and increase public transport, walking, wheeling and cycling throughout the area.

I also want to see the Council go further and faster in other areas, such as fitting more housing with heat pumps and solar panels along with wider energy efficiency improvements.

Ross says:

I have worked for over 20 years in the film and TV industry, working closely with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, managing the logistics of a large production and problem-solving on a daily basis.

I have lived locally for nearly 15 years and love the area. It’s a great place to raise two boys. However, people are really struggling these days; the high streets need help; and our rivers and parks need protecting.

I am tired of the lack-lustre policies of the Liberal Democrats and I want to face down the rise of the far right. My children, and the community at large, deserve to live in a safe, clean, healthy and fairer society, free from environmental pollution and the toxic politics of division.
