Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside

Here are your Green candidates standing in Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside for the local elections in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on Thursday 7th May 2026:

Chas says:

I’ve been a councillor for the last four years and I’ve learned a lot on the job in terms of how the Council operates, its procedures and protocols. That experience is very valuable.

I worked with my fellow Green Party councillors to bring a debate on housing which led to the Council becoming a Registered Housing Provider. I’ve also spoken in support of our amendments to Council Budgets and pushed the Council on its climate actions.

I’ve brought successful motions (seconded by the Liberal Democrat administration) on recycling rates, waste incineration and support for the Natural History GCSE.

I’ve responded to many emails and phone calls from residents needing my help on a wide range of topics, from missed waste collections to evictions. I’ve always done my best to help them.

Lauren says:

I have lived in Richmond for five years, am a parent rep at a local nursery and volunteered on the campaign to save Park Lane Stables.

My doctoral studies in Human Rights Activism and Security Studies give me the skills to analyse policy, understand community needs, and propose evidence-based solutions. As a tutor and course leader, I have developed communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, and my research connects with civil society and policy, giving insight into campaigns and public engagement. I am skilled at empathetic listening, casework, and responding to sensitive issues with care.

Committed to equality, sustainability, and human rights, I aim to build inclusive communities, support residents, and work collaboratively to scrutinise policies and drive positive change.

Jaydan says:

I combine policy understanding with real engagement on the ground. Through my legal studies and community work, I have supported individuals navigating complex systems and accessing essential services. I understand how council decisions affect housing, youth services and opportunity.

As founder of a youth-led organisation, I have led campaigns, organised public forums and worked with stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes. I bring strong research and casework skills, media confidence, and the ability to communicate clearly across different audiences. I am disciplined, organised and comfortable motivating teams toward shared goals.

If elected, I will focus on listening to residents, building trust and turning local concerns into clear, deliverable priorities.
